Alison studied at the Royal Northern College of Music before winning a scholarship to study with Professor Wolfgang Meyer at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, Germany.
She has appeared as Guest Principal Clarinet with BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Welsh National Opera and holds the position of Principal Clarinet of the English Symphony Orchestra and Longborough Festival Opera. In addition, she has performed with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and further afield as Principal Bass Clarinet of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra.
As a soloist, Alison has performed with the Hallé Orchestra, English Symphony Orchestra, Hillel Orchestra, Jerusalem and Collegium Musicum, Heidelberg. Broadcasts include a Radio 3 live performance of Magnus Lindberg’s Clarinet Quintet and orchestral appearances at the BBC Proms.
Alison is founder member of the Isbourne Trio, whose artistic mission is to diversify the repertoire for Clarinet, Soprano Voice and Piano. Alison has been Clarinet and Bass Clarinet tutor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama since 2003.
Dan Watts began his music study at the age of seven and won a scholarship to Wells Cathedral School at the age of fourteen. On completing his studies at Wells, Dan took a choral scholarship with the Wells Cathedral Choir before undertaking a music degree at the Royal Northern College of Music. After graduating at the RNCM, Dan became a flute professor in Palestine and founded his own chamber group The Metropolitan Ensemble with whom he has performed live on television. He now lives in London where he enjoys a busy freelance career alongside several teaching posts.
Multi prize-winning pianist Adam Johnson was a Scholar and Junior Fellow at The Royal Northern College of Music UK, studying with Martin Roscoe and performing under the baton of Kent Nagano, Martyn Brabbins, and George Hurst, making his Concerto debut aged 15 playing Mozart Piano Concerto No. 15 at the Glinka Accademia, St. Petersburg, conducting from the piano.
Adam furthered his piano studies in London with Prof. Peter Feuchtwanger who has described him as in possession of 'an excellent technique and full of fantasy'.
Unique among the outstanding artists of his generation, Johnson is as equally at home conducting opera as he is fulfilling the role of soloist in concerto repertoire, playing chamber music, or directing his own large-scale compositions.
Adam has given recitals throughout the world including Istanbul, New York, Northern Spain, Norway, and Rio da Janiero, not to mention his demanding schedule in the UK. The composer Oliver Knussen has spoken of the 'extraordinary detail' of his performances.
