About this Event
Join the Public Affairs Committee’s Race Relations Subcommittee for an inspiring luncheon featuring Union League Club of Chicago member Larry Roberts, Jr., owner of Larry’s Barber College, along with partners from Walmart Corporation and Cook County Correctional Center.
Since 2004, Larry’s Barber College has empowered students in Chicago with the skills and mentorship needed for a brighter future. In a groundbreaking move, Larry established the first barber college inside Cook County Department of Corrections in 2010, successfully enrolling over 300 inmates and providing them a path away from violence.
Larry will share his journey from cutting hair in his parents’ basement to leading transformative initiatives that uplift the community. Hear firsthand stories from his partners about the impact of collaboration and support.
