Luncheon and Presentation: "Protecting Land to Protect Water"
About this Event
Join us for a memorable afternoon in the beautiful Peña-Peck House Garden, where good food, gracious company, and meaningful conversation come together in support of a worthy cause. This special garden luncheon will feature an engaging educational presentation on the health of our local waterways led by Executive Director Jen Lomberk, your Matanzas Riverkeeper.
A native Floridian with a lifelong connection to Florida’s natural landscapes, Lomberk has devoted her career to protecting the places that make our region so extraordinary. Guests will hear firsthand about the work of Matanzas Riverkeeper, the challenges facing the Guana, Tolomato, and Matanzas estuary and watershed, and the important role our community can play in preserving these treasured waterways for generations to come.
Enjoy a delicious luncheon prepared and served by the ladies of The Woman’s Exchange of St. Augustine, including dessert, tea, and soft drinks, all in the charming setting of the historic Peña-Peck House Garden. Guests are welcome to bring their own libations, and a limited selection will also be available for a small donation. Attendees will also enjoy exclusive access to our gift shop during the event.
Tickets are $50 plus Eventbrite fees, with individual seats and full tables for eight guests available. To request seating with specific guests, please email the names of the parties you would like at your table to [email protected]. Also, please email [email protected] if you have any dietary restrictions.
As always, all profits from our events benefit the Woman’s Exchange of St. Augustine Historic House Museum & Scholarship Program, which supports women age 25 and older who are returning to school. Thanks to your generosity, we are able to award 25 to 30 scholarships each year and continue investing in the futures of women in our community.
Come dine in the garden, learn from a passionate local advocate, and be part of an afternoon that celebrates history, community, education, and the natural beauty of St. Augustine. We look forward to welcoming you!
