The H.A.R.P. Museum at the Irish Cultural Center is honored to welcome Utica Fire Department Retired Deputy Chief Peter Caruso to Lunch and Learn at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
Deputy Chief Caruso will give a presentation on the role that the Utica Fire Department played after the horrific events of September 11, 2001, in New York City. He will also speak to the physical and emotional effects on UFD personnel immediately after 911 to the present time.
Caruso joined the UFD in September 1991 and retired in May 2012 as Deputy Chief. He oversaw incident management, command and control of fire fighters in critical operations, daily personnel management, training, and safety. He currently works for REM Fire Systems to train companies and clients in fire safety.
