Bean Chapman, Committee Chair for Knox, Anderson, and Blount Counties of the Tennessee Equality Project, will address transgender rights and recent legislative developments during the Lunch with the League meeting of the League of Women Voters of Oak Ridge on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025. The event begins at 12 noon at the Oak Ridge Unitarian Universalist Church, 809 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
Chapman, who recently returned from attending Supreme Court hearings on Tennessee’s ban on medical care for transgender minors, will provide updates on the case and discuss its broader implications. The presentation will explore the challenges faced by transgender individuals in Tennessee, the impact of state legislation, and efforts to advocate for equality and inclusion.
The public is invited to attend from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Guests are welcome to bring their lunch or purchase a boxed lunch for a nominal fee. Coffee and tea will be served.
