In this powerful and moving presentation, Ellie Landau shares the harrowing childhood experiences of her late husband, Louis Landau, who was imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp during World War II. Born in Holland, Louis and his mother were rounded up by the Nazis simply because they were Jewish. Louis, as a survivor, was dedicated to telling his story on multiple occasions, adamantly sharing the brutal truth of the Holocaust and the murder of six million Jews by the German regime.Since Louis' passing in 2016, Ellie has made it her mission to continue his legacy. Through heartfelt narration, she reads from Louis' personal script, sharing his account in the first person, allowing his voice to remain alive in the hearts and minds of all who listen. In addition to reading his words, Ellie offers clarifying context and personal insights that deepen the understanding of the atrocities her husband endured.
This program stands as a testament to the importance of remembering the Holocaust, honoring the memories of its victims, and ensuring that future generations never forget the horrors of history. Ellie’s dedication to sharing Louis’ story highlights the enduring power of testimony and serves as a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit amidst unspeakable suffering.
