Lunch & Learn with The Art Station: Trauma Informed Interventions
About this Event
Creative Interventions for Trauma-Informed Practice introduces mental health professionals to practical, trauma-informed ways of incorporating creative expression into counseling and psychotherapy. Art-making can provide clients with an alternative way to communicate experiences, identify emotions, access strengths, and practice regulation when verbal processing feels overwhelming or inaccessible.
Participants will explore how to structure creative interventions around the core trauma-informed principles of safety, choice, collaboration, empowerment, cultural humility, and pacing. Through experiential art activities, clinicians will practice interventions that emphasize stabilization and resources rather than requiring clients to revisit or visually represent traumatic experiences.
Participants are welcome to bring their lunch or can also choose to have boxed lunch for an addtional fee. There will be a separate email for luch orders sent out prior to the event for particpants to chosse their selections.
