Booting the Bailiffs & Community Organising

Community Base is home to more than 35 incredible organisations but they're often so busy doing the work that there is little time to discover what others are doing. In a new series of lunch events we make space for these organisations to share that work and for folks across the building to come learn about it.

We kick-off with Toby Sedgwick, branch organiser from ACORN Brighton, who will outline what the community union have been doing to tackle the use of bailiff's to collect Council Tax debt and, more broadly, build a strong community organisation that is empowering people to fight for better housing across Brighton & Hove.

From time to time we'll also invite outside guests to hold the space and share the work they do with a few to fostering new relationships or providing additional support to organisations or workers at Community Base.

This a bring your own lunch shindig but we'll provide refreshments
