Dr. Bari is Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Neurosurgery at UCLA and holds joint appointments in Psychiatry, Bioengineering and Radiation Oncology. Dr. Bari is director of the UCLA Functional Neurosurgery Program.

Dr. Bari’s clinical interests include deep brain stimulation, MRI-guided focused ultrasound and radiosurgery for Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia and other movement disorders. He is also a leader in neurosurgical approaches for epilepsy, addiction, and chronic pain. His research focuses on human neuronal recordings to study the mechanisms underlying DBS.

Dr. Bari completed his residency in neurosurgery at UCLA, followed by a Van Wagenen fellowship in functional neurosurgery from the University of Toronto. He obtained his MD and PhD degrees from Boston University. A native of California, he received his BA in Neurobiology from UC Berkeley.
