In this engaging workshop session, Functional Medical Specialist Dr. Darla Booth, DC, CFMC will guide you through the fascinating world of the microbiome. You'll learn how to support a healthy gut, improve digestion, and address common concerns like bloating, IBS, and leaky gut. We’ll also explore the science behind increased intestinal permeability—what happens when the gut lining is compromised, how it contributes to inflammation, and what steps you can take to restore balance.
By understanding how to nurture your microbiome, you can unlock profound benefits for your health. Walk away with practical tools and tips to protect and support your gut, empowering you to feel your best from the inside out.
Afterward, enjoy a nourishing, locally sourced lunch at Kitchen Table, featuring global cuisine prepared by the 1440 Culinary Team. This shared meal is an opportunity to reflect, connect, and engage with like-hearted community members while deepening your commitment to well-being.

Lunch & Learn Schedule:
- 10:00 a.m.: Arrival & Registration
- 10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: Getting to Know Your Microbiome with Dr. Darla Booth, DC, CFMC
- 12:00-1:30 p.m.: Lunch at Kitchen Table; sustainable, locally sourced and mindfully prepared
- 1:30 p.m.: Event Conclusion & Departure
Lunch Menu:
Due to the seasonality of the sustainable ingredients we source from local farms, the Kitchen Table lunch menu will be available and posted approximately one week prior to the event date. A plant-based option is always available.
*Please note that due to the freshness and availability of our ingredients, menus may be subject to change.
Event Notes:
- Guests may check into campus up to 30 minutes before the event starts to enjoy our Lodge Retail Shop, Bridge of Intentions and Common Grounds Patio.
- Attendance at the introductory class is required as a learning component to attend dinner.
- The introductory class is planned for indoors in a spacious venue; however, it may be moved outside if weather is favorable.
- Casual attire is acceptable for this event, and we recommend you bring a light jacket or layers as temperatures may be cooler beneath our redwood canopies.
- Reusable water bottles are welcome -- filtered water stations are available throughout campus.
- Kitchen Table offers ample indoor and outdoor seating, including outdoor covered seating options.
- This is an 18-and-over event.
Cancellation Policy: Participants may request a refund up to 7 days before the event. After this period, all sales are final. All proceeds from Community Learning Events support our 1440 philanthropic and volunteer efforts.
