To mineral collectors, Graves Mountain is Georgia’s most famous mineral locality, which is why the largest case in the Weinman Mineral Gallery is dedicated to minerals from this site. And it has just been updated! Tellus Executive Director Jose Santamaria has been to Graves Mountain many times. He will share stories on the site’s unusual geology, the many world-class minerals found there, the collectors who brought Graves Mountain to worldwide attention, and a mineralogy tour of the site as seen in the film The Tomorrow War.
The Lunch + Learn lecture begins at 12:15 PM. No outside food is allowed but you are welcome to buy lunch in the Café and bring it into the lecture, or just come hear the lecture. All Lunch + Learns are FREE for members and included in regular admission for non-members. Presentations are recommended for ages 8 and up, unless otherwise indicated.
From fossils to stars, Lunch and Learn features a wide variety of topics.
