Lunar New Year Celebrations at David’s and Oriental Teahouse | 1 - 4 February

To celebrate the Year of the Tiger David’s and Oriental Teahouse bring in the Chinese Lunar New Year with a week of festivities from February 1 – 4.

To make up for last year when gatherings were off the menu David’s and Oriental Teahouse will put on a spectacular series of Lunar New Year’s events with interactive lion dances so everyone can get involved. This is an eagerly awaited event for diners and an opportunity to revel in the lion dance that promises good fortune to diners as the dragon awakens.

On Tuesday February 1 David’s will present an all-inclusive dinner featuring five courses with their specialty teas and festive lion dance to bring in good fortune and luck for the year. Their banquet offering will have special off menu dishes tailored for the Lunar New year and will be all the traditional favourites such as pan-fried BBQ pork buns chilli tiger prawns a fiery steamed snapper XO Pipis with Chinese donuts sticky pork belly delicious dumpling baskets and mandarin crème brûlée.

Oriental Teahouse in Little Collins Street will be holding the New Year dinner on Wednesday February 2 with banquet that includes a fantastic array of their most popular dumplings to share along with dessert and naturally a Lion dance performance at 7.15pm.

Following on the party later in the week at Oriental Teahouse in Chapel Street on Friday February 4 where guests can enjoy the extensive a la carte menu. Dumplings are a key dish for Chinese New Year as it symbolises good wealth.
