About this Event

By Luminous Tales

Presented with Chats Palace

A gentle story of intergenerational friendship full of live action and puppetry combined with beautifully illustrated paper theatre to tell a heart-warming story about the changes in the seasons, working together to make amends and the transformative power of kindness.

Mrs Holly Frost lives with her goose keeping an eye on the world below. When she bakes the sun shines, when she hangs up her washing it rains and when she shakes out her bedding soft feathery snowflakes fall, covering the earth in a blanket of snow.

From crisp white paper pages to bright colourful pop-up scenes this show is full of live action and puppetry combined with beautifully illustrated paper theatre and a specially composed soundtrack to tell a heart-warming story about the changes in the seasons, working together to make amends and the transformative power of kindness.

The Goose and Mrs Frost is a family theatre show told with one performer, a giant pop-up book and paper puppets. It has a seasonal, winter theme drawing on traditional folk tales and is suitable for children aged 3-8 years old and their families. The performance style is highly visual with minimal words making it accessible for a wide range of ages and abilities.

There will be an additional workshop after the show for children and adults who are interested in exploring puppetry and creating their own pop-up storybooks, facilitated by the performer. The workshop is not included in the price of the show ticket. If you would like to attend the workshop, please select the package option (‘with workshop’). It is limited to a group size of 20 only.

Date: Saturday 18th October 2025

Performance: 10:30 am - 11:30 am (50 minutes run time, 10 minutes to stay and play after)

Workshop: 12 pm - 1 pm

Please note:

  • All children have to be accompanied by an adult at all times. Please select the ticket that best suits your needs (i.e., please purchase 2 adult-child tickets if you are attending as a group with 2 adults and 2 children).
  • We will not be able to admit children outside of the age suitability bracket to ensure the best experience for all audience members.
  • We will not be able to issue refunds once payment has been made. Please ensure that you have selected the right ticket.
