With amazing DJ Gumbo spinning soul-stirring beats, you'll move and groove with a like-minded community in a safe and sober environment. Breakdown

6pm - Arrive and warm up music/stretching (note: doors will NOT OPEN until 6pm)

6.30pm - 2 hour dance journey

8.30pm - Wind down, closing circle and social

9pm - Go forth and spread the vibes

Guidelines

Please arrive on time

No footwear (only if needed)

Respect of personal space

Stay hydrated - BRING BOTTLES (non glass)

Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in

Phone-free space during the event

Bring instruments if you want to jam (some provided)

No alcohol or drugs.

What makes us different from other conscious dance?

This is a co-collaboration with YOU!

Luminous Ent are bringing a community of dancers together who co-curate the space during each event. Inspired by conscious dance practices, we facilitate an open format DJ set with the intention of connecting and flowing with the energy in the room. Each event will be different, as those in attendance will shape the experience with what they bring to the dance.

From the moment you arrive at the event you will be immersed; background music (with live vocals) gently welcomes you into the space for the first 30 minutes as you greet fellow dancers, stretch and warm-up. This is followed by a 2 hour dance to an improvised DJ set which starts on mellow tempos, but then builds, feeding off the dynamic in the room. A thirty minute period at the end for cooling down, unwinding and socialising. There will be interactive elements throughout the space which encourage creativity in different forms such as use of percussive instruments and singing.

Being held around the full moons, our fun, heart-centred experience is an expressive outlet for whatever you have been harnessing that month, to leave you feeling rejuvenated for the new month approaching. We are creating an open forum for the community to input on each month’s event; sharing music that you would love to dance to (either composed by others or by yourself), original artwork to decorate the space is welcomed, or what’s energetically motivating you to want to dance that month.
