Lumen is the latin word for light, and also a unit of measurement of light and also the name of an unhinged bloc team concept. In this bloc team, we will work for three weeks to make a show using any kind of light but the stage light. Weird lamps, flashlights, nightlights, other freaky beams, whatever we can get our hands on. Along the way, we will use all the dramatic tension this bold lighting gives us to leverage funny, wild scenes. The result will be a show unlike anything Bloc Fest has seen before, literally.

Come for the concept but stay for developing a new form with new tools and comedy at the core. Every participant needs to have passed AS1, and every participant needs to bring some way of lighting a person's face (at least!) for our first session. Everyone is also expected to arrive with a conversational level of Latin.

Refunds & Cancellations – Registration is non-refundable within two weeks of a class' start date. Refunds for class fees are available prior to the two week cut off, however Eventbrite fees will not be refunded. If you have any questions or concerns about refunds, please email [email protected].

Accessibility - The venue is accessible from the street level with no steps up – the main door has a significant lip, but the side door (which will be unlocked for classes) is level to the sidewalk. Click here for more info!

Any questions? – Please reach out to [email protected] and the Blind Tiger Team will be able to help you out!
