About this Event

“Lullaby Mosaic” - lullabies from around the world

The existence of lullabies, the world’s oldest song form, shows that music was made and has thrived over thousands of years to reassure, soothe, and express our love.

After facing the traumas of a global pandemic, we need just that.

“Lullaby Mosaic” is a family-friendly live music concert featuring singers, artists and musicians of different backgrounds and traditions from five continents, exploring the universality and artistry of lullabies.

The “Lullaby Mosaic” concert explores themes prevalent in lullabies, such as the song's universality, womanhood, love for children, family and support.

The title speaks to our collaborative spirit, resulting in a blended array of lullaby traditions, rhythms, instruments, and stories, showcasing it as a powerful universal art form rather than a domestic chore. Our project illustrates the universal need for comfort through music, and the essential role of artists in society, as they hold the crucial ability to console and give us hope.

This project is generously supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council.
