Lucy May Walker's Writer's Round

Lucy May Walker's monthly Writer's Round is an afternoon of original music in the style of a Nashville writers round where the 3 featured artists sit on the stage at the same time and take turns in playing their songs & telling the stories behind them.

It is a chance for you to discover your new favourite artist in an intimate, cosy setting. Don't miss out on experiencing the most wholesome music event Folkestone has to offer.

Folkestone based Singer/Songwriter Lucy May began her music career by busking on the streets and train stations of London. It was here where she was discovered by BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine who helped catapult her career by inviting Lucy to perform live on both his Radio and TV show. Since then she has supported the likes of Wet Wet Wet, Tony Hadley & Texas as well as selling out numerous UK tours of her own. Since moving to Folkestone in February this year, Lucy May Walker has made a name for herself, performing in various venues across the Town and collecting many fans along the way.

Heidi Browne is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from the UK. 2024 sees the release of her 6th album 'Spirits Alive'. Heidi gravitated towards music from the age of 4 and begged to learn violin, piano and flute then at 14 she began writing songs on guitar. Her influences span blues, jazz, motown, rockabilly, folk, americana and country.

Deal based Singer/Songwriter Jack Bowden is one to watch. He has a fun indie sound with honest and very observant lyrics. He has a gift for word play and his (often humorous) songs give a cheeky and heartfelt insight into nightlife and modern romance. He’ll be sure to keep you smiling throughout his set!

This event is held at the The Music Workshop, Folkestone 1B Town Walk, Folkestone CT20 2AD (just a 10 minute walk from Folkestone Central Station)

It has a bar serving both hot drinks, alcohol and a range of sweet snacks.

Entry is £5 and spaces are very limited - past events have often sold out well in advance so book early to avoid disappointment. All ticket money is split between the artists and there is a tip bucket at the end - thank you in advance for your genority.

The show will run from 4-6pm including an interval. Please arrive from 3.30pm when doors open to purchase a drink and grab yourself a seat. We also welcome you to stick around afterwards to chat with the artists.
