Luck of the Irish Cookie Decorating Class (Beginner)

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a fun, festive, and hands-on cookie decorating class hosted by Sugarcoated at Caboose Commons! Join us on Sunday, March 15 for a relaxed and creative experience where you’ll learn the basics of decorating sugar cookies with royal icing while creating a cheerful St. Patrick’s Day–themed cookie set.

During class, you’ll decorate six sugar cookies featuring classic and playful designs:

• A beard/mustache
• Shamrock
• Pot of gold
• Beer
• Leprechaun’s tall hat
• Rainbow

This class is beginner-friendly and open to all ages, with step-by-step instruction throughout. We’ll use on wet-on-wet decorating techniques to add design elements and sprinkles to add texture and dimension. Plus, we’ll build in time to let layers set so you can add additional icing details and depth as you go.

What’s Included:

• 6 cookies, 4 bags of royal icing,
• All the tools you need like a scribe, parchment paper, and paper towel,
• A box to take your completed cookies home,
• Group presentation of introduction to decorating plus tips for each cookie design,
• Printed step-by-step picture instructions, tips, and hints for success (yours to keep!),
• Expert instruction in a relaxed, fun atmosphere.

As a bonus you also get royal icing and sugar cookie recipes!

You’ll work with four royal icing colors—white, green, gold, and orange—and learn techniques you can confidently recreate at home for future cookies. All cookies, icing, tools, and supplies are provided, so you can simply show up and enjoy the experience.

Whether you’re brand new to cookie decorating or just looking for a fun seasonal activity, this class is a great way to relax, get creative, and celebrate the holiday. Make a day of it by grabbing food or drinks from Caboose Commons before or after class (live music starts at 3 p.m.!), then head home with your finished cookies packaged and ready to share (or keep for yourself).
