LUCID DISTRICT - DJ DANCE PARTY!! JON EYE, founding member of Lucid District, is a DJ but also a rapper, producer, spray paint artist, videographer, photographer, event organizer, festival curator, Jack of all Trades artist from Alexandria, VA. He spins all genres from house, funk, hip hop, downtempo and everything in between. Jon Eye has been at the forefront of the local festival and concert scene throwing numerous events such as The Living Dream Festival, The Lucid Dream Festival and Conscious Dream Festival series.
DJ BLUE NOVA is a DJ/MC from Winchester, Va. This is his 4th year as a DJ. He plays all around the DMV including parties, skate rinks, bars, and festivals. If you like to dance, his blends of house and DNB are sure to have you on your feet!
James Michael Blake, otherwise known as FADE RUNNER, is a DMV native who has been steadily working hard to bring to the genre of music he calls “Laser Funk” to the dance music scene. As a producer, DJ, and once founding member of the Jamtronica band “Definition of One”, the past 10+ years has watched him grow into one of the area's most infectious and unmissable electronic music acts. Designed to be accessible, fun and as groovy as possible by blending Electronic Funk, House, and Up-tempo, sampled based beats. Fade Runner will be sure to get your butt Movin' and your soul Groovin'!
SHAFT XXL, is a no rules DJ. This guy is one bad mutha f**ker. SHAFT XXL has been wrecking minds and bodies since 1999. He has graced some of the best nightclubs, music festivals, one-off events, and fashion boutiques in Washington DC, like the legendary Nation (RIP), Fur, Ibiza, Ultrabar, Heaven and Hell, Cafe Japone, Panache and chic Club Five (RIP) to name a few. His ambition is to make his audience move. “The Nod,” is his driving force. A DJ based on funk meets punk. He traverses the spectrum of genres. Mixing is about A to B, not necessarily a smooth seamless blend, and not always a head-banging peaking bass drop. He has also played in other regional locales such as but not limited to VA,WV,PA,MD, FL, NJ, even the legendary desert city of Burning Man in Nevada, etc.
SHAFT XXL takes his persona from the 1970s movie hero John Shaft. Like SHAFT, this DJ is “a complicated man.” He splices and spins Breaks, Funky House, Disco, Deep and Progressive House, Big Beat, Electro, Baltimore Club, Dubstep, Garage, Drum and Bass, Trap, Future Bass, Glitch Hop, Lo-Fi Hip Hop and Downtempo. Anything he can mix to keep a crowd intrigued and guessing. His admiration of the turntablism scene is apparent in his cut and paste credo, utilizing transforms, scratches, and back spins, to spice up his performances. Some of his other tastes and flavors include, Classic Hip Hop, Classic Rock, 80’s and Motown.
