✦ ???? ?????????? ????????… ✦Italian director Luca Guadagnino is a true cinephile as well as one of the most singular directors working today. When his film ? ?? ???? was released, critics evoked the cinema of Visconti and when Call Me By Your Name followed, the influence of Bertolucci was often mentioned. He has also remade Dario Argento’s giallo-horror masterpiece ????????, while his ? ?????? ?????? is a reworking of Jacques Deray’s dark summer classic, ?? ???????. The cinema of others is present throughout his oeuvre even as he has forged his own signature style.
???? ?????????? ????????… offers a guest curatorship to the lauded filmmaker, allowing Luxembourg audiences to discover the director’s wide-ranging cinephile tastes in more detail.
For this week-long series, Guadagnino dove into the archives of the Luxembourg City Cinémathèque to unearth 35mm prints of some personal favourites that he’ll introduce each night in person. Plus he has invited queer Portuguese filmmaker João Pedro Rodrigues as a special guest, with two of his films programmed and a conversation about cinema between the two directors as the closing event of what promises to be an exciting, week-long event for cinephiles!

Each screening will be preceded by a short introduction by Luca Guadagnino, whereas more in-depth talks are scheduled alongside the screenings of ??? ???? ??? ?????? and ????-?'-???-????. Tickets are available for single screenings (€6) or double bills (€10) each day and include a snack and a soft drink between the films.
