Join us as we celebrate two new musical releases, an album by Saint Paul-based Americana artist Emmy Woods and a new single by Emmy, Dakotah Faye, and LowJam. The three collaborating artists will be joined by local Americana songwriter, Laura Hugo, for a night of heartfelt performances at the Cedar Cultural Center on January 10 in Minneapolis, MN, celebrating both the new album and the single. Born naked and screaming, Lowjam can’t help but rear his ugly head to the rest of the world. Raised and living in Saint Paul, the singer/songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist slays demons and drinks their blood. Shifting between earth shattering magnitude and feathered lightness, each track feels like a voice from a parallel world, shouting from a distance, demanding your attention, enveloping you in a world of sound so encompassing you can’t help but let it consume you.

With a love for artists like Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Phoebe Bridgers, Bjork, and Jon Hopkins, Lowjam strives to evoke the same sense of sonic bliss; waves of audio washing over you, drowning you, lifting your body back to the surface to be brought under once again. Now with his debut EP under his belt, Lowjam continues to experiment, hoping that one day he may make a song that will actually explode someone’s head. In all honesty, the only hope he has is that somebody out there in the world can listen to a song of his and because of it, feel so deeply that somehow things make more sense than they did before.

Hailing from Minot, North Dakota, Dakotah Faye is a seasoned musician and storyteller whose work captures raw emotion and undeniable authenticity. Over the last decade, he has toured extensively across the Midwest, sharing his powerful sound and heartfelt lyrics with audiences from all walks of life.

With two years of sobriety under his belt, Dakotah brings a renewed sense of purpose and clarity to his music, channeling his journey of resilience and self-discovery into every performance. His dedication to his craft has earned him recognition, including two North Dakota Music Award nominations and being named the 2024 Best Performer by the Minot Daily News.

Throughout his career, Dakotah has had the privilege of collaborating and sharing stages with renowned artists such as Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Machine Gun Kelly, and Rittz, solidifying his place as a respected figure in the music scene. Blending his Midwestern roots with a fearless approach to storytelling, Dakotah Faye delivers music that resonates deeply, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who hears it.

Emmy Woods (she/they) was born and raised on an old dirt road in rural North Dakota and currently resides in Saint Paul, MN. With hints of country, folk, and blues, Emmy’s songs showcase her knack for storytelling, her strengths in musical artistry, and her ethereal voice. Drawing on a range of influences including Billie Holiday, Emmylou Harris, & Against Me, Emmy has shared stages with such talents as Melissa Carper, Sarah Morris, Ryan  Young of Trampled by Turtles, and Cam Whitcomb, to name a few. Emmy began writing at 13, however, her music remained unreleased and rarely performed until 2023, when she burst out of her living room and onto the Minnesota music scene with the release of 3 recorded collections. Undeniably prolific, she has since released several singles and an EP. Performing anywhere that’ll have her, from dive bars and markets to ballrooms and festivals, Woods continues to gain momentum with her witty & captivating repertoire, her disarmingly down to earth charm, and her genre-bending sound.

Laura Hugo is an Indigenous singer/songwriter from Teec Nos Pos, AZ located in the Navajo Nation. She moved to Minnesota in 2010 to pursue her music and has since played all over the Twin Cities and around the Midwest. She has used her experiences with grief, mental health and general confusion about her place in the world to write honest and relatable songs.
