Join Camera House and Nikon Australia for an immersive evening workshop exploring the techniques and creative possibilities of low-light street photography led by Melbourne-based Street photographer Daniel John.

As the sun sets and the city lights come alive, you’ll learn how to navigate the unique challenges of shooting in low-light conditions while capturing the mood, rhythm, and beauty of Melbourne’s urban landscape.

Over three hours, Daniel will guide you through camera settings and gear choices that work best in low light, share tips for approaching street photography with confidence, and help you develop an eye for compelling composition after dark. You’ll gain practical knowledge on how to use available light creatively, whether it's streetlamps, neon signs, or ambient city glow to add atmosphere and emotion to your shots.

Starting at Hamer Hall, just a short walk from Flinders Street Station, we’ll explore some of Melbourne’s photogenic laneways, streets, and city corners. This is a fantastic opportunity to build your skills, try new techniques, and receive one-on-one guidance from an experienced photographer who knows the streets of Melbourne inside and out.

Whether you're a beginner looking to take the next step or an intermediate shooter wanting to refine your style, this workshop is designed to help you shoot more intentionally, confidently, and creatively in low light.
