Lovewhip returns this great Vermont hotspot for another fabulous dance party! 21+, $10 at the door., 8-11pm.Lovewhip is an original dance band lead by award-winning singer/songwriter/producer and acclaimed guitarist Erin Harpe, and her musical collaborator, husband/bass player Jim Countryman. The busy pair also founded boogie blues band Erin Harpe & the Delta Swingers, and recently released an acoustic duo album, MEET ME IN THE MIDDLE, which won “Album of the Year” at the 2021 New England Music Awards!
In Lovewhip, “Empress” Erin brings out the psychedelic side of her guitar playing (Liz Bills called her “a freakin’ goddess guitar wizard master”) while “Juicy” Jim adds deep electro/afrobeat/dub bass, and Shawn ”Shawny Hammersticks” Meehan provides infectious dance beats. The band’s music has been called an “irresistible party soundtrack”, and their catchy songs weave global dance rhythms with 80’s electro, reggae and funk (kind of like if the Talking Heads were lead by Blondie + Gwen Stefani, with Daft Punk sitting in). You may have heard Lovewhip’s song “Wrecking Machine” on SHOWTIME’s hit TV show “Shameless”!
