About this Event
The Embassy of Belgium in Ottawa and the University of Ottawa invite you to “Loverbooké” by Belgian comedian Bruno Coppens. For an hour and a half, Coppens plays with words and language, demonstrating the flexibility of the French language and obliterating the preconception of it as a strict one-dimensional universe.
Speaking of his show, Coppens explains: “I imagined a character seeking to unlock the gates to a renewed world, saving the planet with three keys in hand. From Christopher Columbus appearing to recount his obvious failure (he was in search of India, yet he discovered America...) to Joan of Arc whose professional success came through... her death by burning, this zany show features irony, verbal and visual fantasy, absurdity and bad faith!”
The show will be in French, with no subtitles.
Date: Wednesday, September 28
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Théâtre LabO, 60 Waller Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1N 6E2
