Gather in the sacred circle for Empowered Wellness every Wednesday. We will cover a range of relevant topics that fully encompass what wellness truly is: a medicine wheel that includes food, herbs, community, sacred space, sleep, movement, our connection to Mother Earth, and our sense of mental and emotional well being. We will pull relevant truths from sources both new and ancient, to reawaken, strengthen and catalyze greater well being.

Love Your Liver: Herbs for Gentle Detoxing

Everyone seems to have a concept of detoxing that's radical, harsh and makes you feel like you want to die before you start feeling human again. It doesn't have to be this way! Today we'll look at herbs to use to assist your liver, lymphatic and digestive systems with getting the toxins out so you can move into March feeling lighter and clean! We'll also discuss the proper way to detox without feeling like you're about to croak! Detoxing can be done a little at a time, it doesn't have to kick your keester into feeling awful. Today we will craft an herbal tea that helps the body detox gently. We will also talk about ways to eat clean as you detox. If you want to go hard core that's fine, I'll tell you how to do that too. But there is a gentler, softer way to do this and that's our focus in today's class.

Just to be 100% clear, we are talking strictly about detoxing the body from normal kinds of stuff from the accumulation of waste products that stack up after the holidays. We are NOT talking about drug or alcohol detoxing. That's entirely different, it IS radical and it must be. If you have a "fatty liver" this is a good class to learn new ways of supporting the functions of the liver, lymphatic and digestive systems and helping them do a better job.
