About this Event

You're invited to learn how you can welcome and care for our newly arrived neighbors.

Currently, the City of Denver, nonprofit partners, and State resources are overwhelmed with the influx of migrants. And a representative from the State of Colorado has reached out to see if the Church can help to welcome, host, and care for newly arrived migrants.

It's been a long and hard journey for many who have arrived in Denver, especially for one family who has fled Venezuela to escape an oppressive and corrupt government.

(see a story of one families journey)

For this family, they just want opportunity and peace. (We want to) "work and fight for a good future for our child and have peace of mind. Peace, above all, we want to be in a safe place. We couldn't achieve that in our own country."

How can the Body of Christ welcome and love our new neighbors?

The State is asking if the Church could help host and/or care for families, helping them navigate resources for a minimum of 6 months.

Come to a lunch and learn to hear the stories of:

- A current migrant.

- A community pastor and his church that has risen to the occasion.

- And the faith journey of a man who responded to the unmet needs of his refugee neighbors.

A representative with the Office of Emergency Management will share some specifics on how we can engage as individuals, families, small groups, and churches.

Please RSVP for this free lunch and learn in person or on Zoom.

Doors will open at 11:30 am for lunch and fellowship.

The program will begin at 12 pm
