A free group for people with learning disabilities to explore dating, relationships, and friendships.Details/Ngā Whakaritenga
• 22 to 30 years old: 10am to 1pm, Wednesday 31 July and 14 Wednesday August.
• Location: CCS Disability Action, 17 Claudelands Road, Hamilton 3216.
What is this group about?
• It’s a space to share your story and goals with others.
• Explore topics like how to meet someone special, how to ask someone on a date, keeping safe, relationship red and green flags, consent, friendship, relationship skills and more!
• Bring your sister, brother or another support person – they will be your sidekick and advocate on a mission (or come on your own if you prefer!).
• Start where you’re at right now! You’ll choose your first steps in your journey.
• We will chat, discover great resources, watch videos, ask questions and explore.
• This group is LGBTQQIA+/takatāpui inclusive.

Melissa Janson, Psychologist is running this group: "Kia ora, I’m Melissa. I work with people to find, keep, and strengthen their relationships. I’ve worked with single people, those getting into dating, as well as couples on their relationship goals. This group is a space for anyone who wants to learn more about relationships – the stuff that can be hard to talk about! That is why I like to create a relaxed and warm environment, where people can feel free to share, ask questions, and have fun in the process."
