Love Can Happen Anywhere
Whitestone Gallery Singapore is pleased to present Peter Draw’s First solo exhibition, Love Can Happen Anywhere. This family-friendly exhibition centres on his iconic characters Ai and Aiko and emerges from POST, POST, an art movement founded by Peter Draw. It engages a world defined by constant filtering and appropriation, redirecting these conditions toward a sustained exploration of love.
Spanning four series, each corresponding to a season and a tone in Hanyu Pinyin: Love (Spring), Can (Winter), Happen (Autumn), Anywhere (Summer), the exhibition reflects Draw’s twenty-five-year practice, rooted in drawing and human exploration.
Central to his work is the idea that transformation itself carries the potential for hope. The tonal play at the heart of it all is written into the characters’ very name: āi, sorrow (哀), and ài, love (愛), separated by only a subtle change in sound — a curve, a smile.
"The distance between sorrow and love is always shorter than it appears."
