Love Bomb


Love ? Bomb is a new ensemble comprised of old friends who’ve performed together in other configurations. They are brought together by a shared love of Great American Artists like: Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Count Basie, Ray Charles, Judy Garland, Billie Halliday and other beloved Artists from the heyday of Jazz and Film.
Featuring:
Meg Beattie Patrick - Vocals: Meg is a musician, songwriter and vocal stylist who delivers nuanced performances from the saucy to the sublime in multiple genres.
Born in Montclair, Meg was raised in Manhattan from age 12 to 19, where she was exposed to a wide variety of musicians who inspired her to pursue her craft. Honing her guitar, piano and vocal skills over the years, Meg has written and performed varied genres including indie folk-rock, blues and jazz in NYC, New Orleans, Montclair and North Jersey at house concert series and established venues:
Notes from Home & Café ZED (NJ Arts Incubator), Music at The Mission, The Folk Project Valentine Show at The Minstrel (now The Troubadour), Outpost in the Burbs Original Stage, Outpost MESH, Outpost Farmers Market, Tierney’s Tavern, Montclair Brewery, Hat City Kitchen; Church Street Summer Music Festival at Montclair Center Stage; Studio 12, Groov Café, Trend Café, Danny’s Skylight, Don’t Tell Mama, Trumpets Jazz Club, The Shillelagh Club, The Falcon, Montclair Make Music Day, 100th Monkey Foundation Productions, Glen Ridge Singer-Songwriter Series, and the Montclair Art Museum through the auspices of Parents Who Rock, to name a few.
She has performed live on-air at WFDU (Evan Toth broadcast), WMSC (Gene Sower broadcast), HomeGrownRadioNJ (Peter Marcketta, Todd Mills, Doug McWilliams broadcasts), and taped programs on TelePrompter Cable TV (Manhattan Cable - Mel Power Flower Hour broadcasts) and TV34-Montclair "Arts Up Close" (in the capacity of executive producer, host & performer). Meg has performed studio vocals on special recording projects for Jeff Adams and 11:21 (ProgRock), David Arndt (Jazz), Don Sarlin (Country) and Laura Birdsong (Americana).
Meg is an Emeritus Board Member of the Montclair Arts Council and Outpost In The Burbs.
Jonathan Luks - Guitar, Vocals, Tap: As a Composer and Arranger, Jonathan has written and recorded the scores to 17 Musicals for his Company Flying Ship Productions. He was a member of The Lauren Hooker Band as Tap Dancer, guitarist. He also leads his own band Jon Luks and The Jive Dukes. Jonathan has performed in over 30 Musicals, and appeared with numerous Jazz, Blues, and Pop Bands He was also a guest artist in Brenda Bufalino’s American Tap Dance Orchestra.
B. Tyler - Percussion: Bruce Tyler is a lifelong resident of Montclair and has been involved in and worked with many organizations. A professional musician for most of his life, he has performed quite extensively in the tri-state area. Some of the organizations he has worked with are The Montclair Arts and Cultural Alliance, The Montclair African American Heritage Parade & Festival, The Martin Luther King Jr., Festival, First Night Montclair, The Montclair 4th of July Committee and others. He has also performed at The Bitter End, NYC, Kenny’s Castaways, NYC, The Village Gate, NYC, as well as many other venues in all five boroughs in and around New York City. He has performed with his band Black Lace Blues and The Michael Reitman Blues Band. He served as host for the Open Mic Jazz Jam at the DLV Lounge and Pineapple Express Barbecue and is currently the Open Mic house drummer at Trend Coffee House & Tea Room. Bruce Tyler is the founder of the original Montclair Blues and Jazz Festival and has curated the Jazz archives at The Montclair Public Library for decades.
