About this Event

Calling all romantics, bibliophiles, and bookstore lovers! We’re thrilled to host author and veteran journalist Judith Rosen on Thursday, February 27, celebrating her newly released book, .

Join us for a discussion where Judith, in conversation with novelist Laura Zigman, will share the heartwarming stories behind the couples who found their happily ever after in bookstores. Bookstore Romance is more than just a coffee table book—it’s a love letter to independent bookstores, and a testament to the magic that happens when books and love intertwine.

From spontaneous proposals nestled between shelves to heartfelt weddings among the pages of beloved books, Judith has captured the real-life fairy tales of 24 couples who made bookstores the backdrop to their most unforgettable moments. With each story, discover how booksellers became the unsung heroes, orchestrating surprises and creating lifelong memories.

ABOUT BOOKSTORE ROMANCE: LOVE SPEAKS VOLUMES
From proposals to “I do.” Book-lovers find their perfect match at bookstores they love. What is the most romantic place to get engaged? A bookstore, of course. The perfect wedding venue? A bookstore! Book-loving couples from all over America agree, and Bookstore Romance celebrates not only a couple’s love for each other, but also their love of books and bookstores. Veteran journalist Judith Rosen interviewed twenty-four couples who tell their stories about how they planned and celebrated their engagements and weddings in independent bookstores. And of course these perfect occasions could not have been orchestrated without the help of willing booksellers who slipped rings into books, made special displays of handmade volumes, and hid behind bookshelves to snap photos. A portion of the proceeds from this book will be donated to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation.
