About this Event
A world premiere comes to Willits.
Louisa @ Fruitlands, a new play by acclaimed playwright Daniel Rover Singer, makes its debut at Willits Community Theatre, bringing fresh life to a fascinating chapter in the story of Louisa May Alcott.
Before Little Women, there was Fruitlands: a utopian experiment founded on transcendental ideals, hope, and a belief that a better world could be built from the ground up. It didn’t last.
Through Louisa’s keen observations and growing voice, we watch a community wrestle with ambition, sacrifice, and the quiet, human truths that no philosophy can quite contain. What begins as vision becomes something far more complicated, and far more revealing.
By turns witty, intimate, and deeply searching, Louisa@Fruitlands explores the cost of idealism and the resilience of those who live inside it.
We are honored to present this world premiere and to collaborate with Daniel Rover Singer in bringing this powerful new work to the stage.
Join us for a rare opportunity to experience a new play at its very beginning, alive, immediate, and unfolding in real time.
