For the first time at The Ellington! Step back into the groove-heavy, blues infused jazz of the 1950s and ’60s as Louis Rebeiro and Lucky Oceans share the stage for a special evening at The Ellington Jazz Club.
With Louis’ exceptional musicianship on piano, Hammond organ, guitar, saxophone and vocals, combined with Lucky’s decades of experience including witnessing many of the original jazz legends in his youth in Philadelphia, this performance celebrates the rich tradition of blues and jazz.
Aided by their shared love of both blues and jazz, Lucky and Louis will take you on a unique journey into a time when listening to and playing jazz was a deep communal experience, transforming The Ellington Jazz Club into the spirit of New York City’s legendary Birdland in the early 1960s.
