Les influences de Chandler remontent au New Jersey, où il a grandi dans une famille de musiciens de jazz. Son père, Joseph Chandler, était DJ et lui a transmis une culture musicale ancrée dans les origines de la soul, du disco ainsi que du New York Underground Sound. En accompagnant son père lors de ses soirées, il commence à passer des disques au Rally Racquet Club à East Orange, dans le New Jersey, à l’âge de 13 ans. À 14 ans, il débute comme stagiaire en studio et commence à produire de la musique. Depuis la sortie de son premier single SuperLover/Get It Off sur Atlantic Records en 1991, Chandler a publié plus de 100 disques. Il a également été DJ résident au Club Zanzibar à Newark, New Jersey, dans les années 1980, un lieu emblématique du « New Jersey sound », un courant de deep house ou de garage house. Il est le fondateur du label de house Madhouse Records (à ne pas confondre avec le label reggae éponyme de Dave Kelly) basé au Royaume-Uni, qui a accueilli des artistes tels que Roy Ayers et Dennis Ferrer. Plus récemment, il a créé MadTech Records, dont le roster comprend No Artificial Colours, Citizen, Kashii, Waze & Odyssey ainsi que Waifs & Strays. En 2016, il fonde son troisième label, Kaoz Theory, qui a vu paraître des sorties remarquées d’artistes tels que Jamie Jones, Satoshi Tomiie, Seth Troxler et The Martinez Brothers.

Since the release of his first single "SuperLover/Get It Off" on Atlantic Records in 1991, Chandler has released over 100 records. He was a resident DJ at Club Zanzibar in Newark, New Jersey in the 1980s as well, home to the New Jersey sound brand of deep house or garage house. He is the founder of the house music label Madhouse Records (not to be confused with Dave Kelly's eponymous reggae label) in the United Kingdom, whose signings include Roy Ayers and Dennis Ferrer, but also more recently of MadTech Records, whose roster includes No Artificial Colours, Citizen, Kashii, Waze & Odyssey, as well as Waifs & Strays.
