About this Event
LOST IN TRANSITION
The losses nobody talks about.

A Berlin Well workshop on grief, change and the many ways we feel lost.

Ever felt lost in your own life, even when everything looked perfectly fine from the outside?

We know how to talk about losing someone we love. But what about losing a part of ourselves? The life we imagined? Our health, identity, independence, sense of belonging, or the feeling that we know who we are?

What about the losses that come disguised as new beginnings?

A new city. A new relationship. Becoming a parent. Leaving a career. Living with chronic illness. A life-changing diagnosis. A role that slowly takes over who we used to be.

Everyone sees the change. Not everyone sees what it costs.

And sometimes, we don't even recognise it as loss ourselves. We just feel different. Disconnected. Out of place. A little lost in translation between who we were and who we are becoming.

Welcome to the in-between.

What if we gave ourselves a moment to explore it?

Lost in Transition is an experiential Berlin Well workshop exploring the visible and invisible losses that shape our lives.

Together, we'll look beyond the obvious endings and make space for the experiences that don't always receive recognition, understanding or even a name.

Through emotional intelligence exercises, individual reflection, paired conversations and gentle breathwork, we'll explore:

  • What counts as loss? Beyond death and bereavement, what else can we lose, and why do some losses remain invisible?
  • What changes inside us? The emotions, expectations and parts of our identity that shift when life takes an unexpected turn.
  • Who am I now? How do we recognise ourselves when the old version no longer quite fits?
  • What do I need in the in-between? Not a perfect answer, a five-step plan or another person telling us to move on. Just a little more understanding of ourselves and what matters now.

There will be space to think, write, breathe, talk and listen. You can share your experience if you wish, or simply take part in your own way.

And because being human isn't a solemn affair all the time, there is room for curiosity, unexpected insights and a little humour, too. We can take our experiences seriously without taking ourselves too seriously every minute of the day.

Who is this for?

Perhaps you are grieving someone you love, including a beloved pet.

Perhaps your body or health has changed the way you live.

Perhaps becoming a parent, changing careers, leaving a relationship or moving somewhere new has left you wondering where a part of your former self went.

Perhaps you're navigating a transition you wanted but didn't realise would come with a sense of loss.

Or perhaps you can't quite put your finger on it. You just feel a little lost.

You don't need to arrive with a story, a label or a solution. You don't need to be at a particular stage of grief or change. And you certainly don't have to share anything you're not ready to share.

This isn't about fixing ourselves, finding a silver lining in everything or pretending that every loss has a happy ending.

Some things cannot be replaced. Some changes take time to understand. And sometimes, the first step is simply acknowledging what has changed and giving ourselves permission to feel whatever comes with it.

What to expect
  • Guided reflection and experiential exercises
  • Emotional intelligence tools for self-awareness, empathy and understanding personal needs
  • A short, gentle breathwork and meditation practice
  • Optional paired conversations and group sharing
  • A welcoming space for different experiences
  • No comparison, judgement or unsolicited advice

A gentle note: This is a community reflection and emotional intelligence workshop, not group therapy or bereavement counselling. Sharing is always optional, and you are welcome to take a break or participate quietly.
