Lost City Books 2026 Horror Salon!
About this Event
To adequately celebrate the spooky season, Lost City Books has put together a lineup of local and visiting horror writers to unsettle and delight you. We'll also have our annual Halloween shirt available for sale as well. There will be wine, snacks, mingling and a book signing at the end. All are welcome!
This event will take place at The Line Hotel in their Carina Room.
About the authors:
David Simmons is the author of the fantastically bizarre Ghosts of Baltimore duology, where the supernatural and strange grapple with the ever present past of East and West Baltimore. His work has appeared in Strange Horizons, The Washington Post, Brooklyn Vol. 1, Another Chicago Magazine, Hobart, and elsewhere. He is a regular contributor to Books to Prisoners, a Seattle-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster a love of reading behind bars, encourage the pursuit of knowledge and self-empowerment, and break the cycle of recidivism. He lives in Baltimore with his wife and three daughters.
Gianni Washington is an American writer with a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from The University of Surrey. Her writing can be found in the Chicago Review of Books, West Trade Review, on Litromagazine.com, and in the horror anthology Brief Grislys, among other places. She resides somewhere in the ether with her cats Choko and Neal.
Meg Ripley was born in Ontario and raised in Newfoundland, Canada, surrounded by whales and icebergs. After an MFA in illustration from SVA, NYC, she worked as an illustrator for a decade before realizing her love of writing fiction could no longer be ignored. Her first novel, Necrology, was a Foreword INDIES Award Winner. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two children.
Lauren T. Davila is a Pushcart-nominated Latina author, anthologist, and acquisitions editor. Her debut short story collection, The Patron Saint of White Menageries, is forthcoming from Creature Publishing in 2026. She has edited multiple anthologies, including To Root Somewhere Beautiful (2024) and When Other People Saw Us, They Saw the Dead (2022). Her poetry and fiction has appeared in numerous literary magazines. Lauren holds an MA in English Literature and an MFA in Fiction Writing. She is an Acquisitions Editor at Inked In Gray Press and the Assistant Director at PocketMFA. She lives in the greater Los Angeles area where you’ll find her swimming or walking her golden retriever.
