The sweetest Sunday afternoon Milonga in the Bay Area!
Celebrating in our 11th year at St. Clement's Berkeley, in a beautiful sun-filled hall with 1928 oak floors, featuring our famous complimentary empanadas and Argentine wine.
Our DJ is the great Don An, of Dance Boulevard San Jose fame.
This month is the return from Buenos Aires of two of our very favorite tango instructors, Los Ocampo, for a 1.5 hour Chacarera Tango workshop, plus 2 live music sets by Orquesta Z, their last performance of the year.
Please join us for wonderful music, and friendly, experienced dancers.
Los Ocampo have been performing and teaching together for 39 years. They have performed throughout the world. We first saw them at the Barcelona Tango Festival 17 years ago. They have been favorite teachers/performers at Nora's Tango Festival and ATUSA where this year they were 2 or the 5 tango judges! They are experts at the fun, intricate folkloric dance from Buenos Aires called "Chacarera" which is often danced the couples in line during breaks at Buenos Aires Milongas!
Empanada Milonga is a non-profit, held most every 2nd Sunday of the month since 2013, with wonderful DJ's, musicians, and dancers.
