About this Event

Join us for an unforgettable evening as we celebrate the opening of Los Nopales Del Norte, a multidisciplinary arts project designed to illuminate the lived experiences of Mexicans in the United States through a blend of written narratives, visual arts, and photography by various artists. This collection centers individuals navigating the complexities of cultural identity, migration, and belonging, drawing a parallel with the Nopal (Prickly Pear Cactus), a native plant to Mexico that symbolizes endurance and flourishing in difficult environments, and serves as a powerful symbol for the Mexican experience.

Rogelio Esparza will lead an artist talk, providing context and inspiration behind the works on display and more insight into the final book project at 8:30PM. The evening will culminate with a live performance by Tamborazo San Isidro, showcasing the vibrant sounds of traditional Mexican music in the Global District. Don’t miss this dynamic night of art, culture, and music!
