During this drill our CERT, Ares/Races, and DART will be partnering with San Jose Water to open a drive-thru CPOD and distribute water to our residents.
What is a CPOD?
- CPOD or community points of dispensing, are community locations in which state and local agencies dispense needed items to the public during a public health emergency.
As a volunteer:
- You will learn how a CPOD is operated
- How to open and run a CPOD and how it would benefit the community in the event of a disaster
- In this drill, you will experience working with mutual aide partners to distribute water to local residents via a drive thru set-up
- You will receive a reusable water bag to add to your emergency kit
