Los Aurora, the young Catalunyan band led by singer Pere Martínez, has a fresh approach to flamenco. They combine their unmistakably contemporary jazz sound with the classical compositions of Manuel de Falla, and the impeccable footwork and timing of one of the most promising modern flamenco dancers, José Manuel Álvarez.
For the ninth time the Flamenco Biennial will host concerts on our stage, with a focus on the crossover between jazz and flamenco. Every two years the Dutch Flamenco Biennial presents flamenco in all its facets and styles, with a range of artists who either push the boundaries of the genre or stay true to its roots.
