Lorrimer Sanctuary's Spring Native Plant Sale

Come to the 2024 Spring Native Plant Sale. This sale will feature native perennials, shrubs, and vines carefully selected by our naturalists to support wildlife, birds, butterflies and other amazing pollinators. Plant native plants that produce flowers, seeds, berries, cones and nuts. Throughout their lives, some wildlife will change their diet depending on their life stage. For example, many caterpillars eat only leaves while their adult form, the butterfly or moth, sip on nectar. Planting natives for all life stages is crucial to survival. Your purchase from our sale helps support wildlife as well as the the conservation efforts of NJ Audubon.

Our naturalists will be on hand to help guide you to the perfect plant for your yard. Do want to attract spicebush swallowtail butterflies? You need a spicebush. Do you want to watch hummingbirds? Plant coral honeysuckle or beebalm. Do you have sun/shade, wet/dry conditions? Ask us to direct you to the best native plants for your yard. We want to help you help wildlife and create a beautiful native garden!

Cost varies by plant. Prices will be made available once our stock is delivered.

Plants available at the sale include:

Perennials: Eastern Columbine, Ostrich Fern, Butterfly Milkweed, Woodland Stonecrop, Canada Anemone, Foamflower, Blazing Star, Purple Coneflower, Wild Ginger, and many more!

Shrubs: Lowbush Blueberry, Northern Spicebush, Bearberry, Sweetfern, and more.

We will also be holding a *Book Sale* and specials in our Gift Shop!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Each native plant is in a 1-3 gallon container and ready for planting. Prices will be available during the sale and viewable on our FB page.

PLEASE NOTE: Though the plant sale will occur at each of the NJ Audubon Centers on May 4th, availability will vary depending on location.
