About this Event
Some stories are more enduring than others. Myths of descent to the underworld endure. There is etiquette, and there are boundaries to cross. These require offerings, and they don’t want our cell phones. Old-world strategies may be more suitable: something ornamented, something powerful; as protection, as a companion, as an offering.

Lori TalcottLori Talcott is a Seattle-based artist who uses jewelry to explore contemporary theories of magic, the agency of objects, and the interplay of language and matter. Born into a family of jewelers and watchmakers, she apprenticed with a master silversmith in Norway before earning her MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her work is in public and private collections worldwide, including the Smithsonian American Art Museum. She has received two Artist Trust Fellowships and an Arts Fellowship from the American-Scandinavian Foundation. A frequent visiting artist and critic in the U.S. and Europe, Talcott spent a decade as Guest Lecturer at RISD, was recently Guest Professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway, and currently holds a Fulbright Fellowship through the US-Norway Fulbright Foundation.

Our hybrid program features virtual programs streamed on YouTube alongside immersive on-site activities.
In-person, NYC Jewelry Week brings together leading figures in the jewelry industry to curate extraordinary experiences, including exhibitions, exclusive shopping opportunities, and retail collaborations. Attendees can also participate in insightful panel discussions that explore trends, challenges, and innovations in the field. Each event creates memorable jewelry moments that celebrate the creativity and craftsmanship of the industry.
Committed to inclusivity, many of our programs are free and open to the public. NYC Jewelry Week seeks to reshape how people view jewelry by inviting everyone to appreciate the artistry behind the scenes.
