Stars of the Bay Area country music scene come together to pay tribute to a country music legend, the Coal Miner's Daughter herself, Loretta Lynn! This show will feature the Loretta hits you love, along with some deep album cuts, all backed up by Oakland’s own Crying Time. You'll hear rare duets, collaborations and song interpretations by some of the Bay Area's favorite country artists.
Jill Rogers and Crying Time play straight-up honky-tonk, 1970’s cross-over country, and elegiac originals. They’ve been packing dance floors, clubs, bars, and listening rooms for a decade in Northern California’s lively country scene. “Country singing from Oakland standouts. Real musicians, not just stompers. Jill Rogers is an amazing singer. Just plain beautiful.” – KALX http://www.cryingtimeband.com
Essence – Award winning singer-songwriter Essence has been immersed in art and music since childhood. Her birth name really is ‘Essence’ – she was raised by quintessential flower children. As a 6th generation native of San Francisco, her parents were two free spirited bohemian artists from the Haight-Ashbury ‘Summer of Love.’
