Got a saw in my hand like I am Superman,
stopping wildfires from spreading all over Spokane ?
We will be hosting a "Lop and Drop" wildfire risk reduction event this Saturday, June 22. We will meet at the west end of 15th Ave (near 1859 W 15th Ave). Please arrive between 8:30 and 9AM.
RSVP HERE: https://forms.gle/8UFnpCd84UEffQnf8
Please bring gloves, loppers, or pruning saws if you have them. Tools and safety gear will be provided to those who don't have their own. Please wear long sleeves, pants, and sturdy shoes. All volunteers will receive lunch and a Friends of the Bluff t-shirt.
WHY IS THIS WORK IMPORTANT?
High tree density and low-hanging branches increase the risk of intense wildfires spreading through the forest and into adjacent neighborhoods. When we remove small, unhealthy trees and prune the low-hanging branches off the remaining trees, it helps prevent wildfires from climbing into the treetops and spreading quickly.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
If you want to get a sense of what the work will be like, you can watch this event recap from one of last year's events.

You can learn more about the work and how to perform it properly by watching our instructional video. youtube.com/watch?feature=shared&v=FGYhIoSSVAs
