MARO designs is designing, producing and selling jewelery worldwide. Its known to be:
1. ecologically conscious – upcycling leftover cowbones and cowhorns, upcycled aluminium
2. high quality – special techniques developed at own workshop, specialized handwork
3. unique designs by Marie-Rose
4. high-end statement necklaces
5. contemporary fashion with African flair
6. selling locally
7. selling international, especially Europe and USA
8. gender sensitive – working with women only
MARO designs is registered and licensed in Nairobi/Kenya since 2000. In 2019, the manufacture of bone and horn pieces was handed over to workshop staff with the agreement of further priority in supplying pcs to MARO designs.
MARO designs is still operational, especially cooperating with Safari lodges, local retailers, participating at local markets and retailing from workshop/showroom. International customers through catalogs and social media.

The market: women, who are looking for outstanding fashionable jewelery of excellent quality, from 19 years up!
MARO designs is selling to
1. retail shops – locally and international
jewelery, high end handworked gifts, interior, fashion
2. clients on local fairs
3. walk-in clients at show room in Nairobi

Why are we looking for a buyer?
1. We stopped International Trade Fairs (not profitable)
2. After COVID, business locally and international declined
3. Bi-yearly catalogues and visits in Europe with little effect
4. The market for jewelery shrinking, only high end or very cheap
MARIE-ROSE as Managing Director and Designer will resign. Time for young talents to come in and re-create marketing and design.
Future perspectives:
Looking at the development at the market, jewelery has to be offered together with another item (leather, fabric – bags, shoes) to be profitable.
Presence at INSTAGRAM and Facebook, website is there… could be improved by new young minds.
Changing marketing strategies, new perspectives in business
Influence of young creatives taking care of design a new way forward.
Existing business targeting especially tourists can grow by approaching more high- end lodges and safari organisations (here, our wide range of items is still very attractive, quality and stile more and more in demand)
MARO designs as Brand name could be used as stepping stone to get into the market with whatever design product the buyer is bringing in.
MARO designs is offering the experience and practical knowledge of actual staff (administration and assembling). MARIE-ROSE will be available to support for max one year. Also, the use of the facilities should be possible for max one year.
