Perennial Eora-favourite Loods returns to Sydney on February 11 for a headline open-air performance at the Slip Inn.
Originally hailing from Australia's Steel City, Loods - aka Elliot Struck - has built a name for himself as a master craftsman of tasteful, timeless and thumping dance records. And the world is listening: 'Walking Away' was named Annie Mac's 'Hottest Record', 'Pure Bliss Meltdown' copped the 'Essential Tune' nod from Pete Tong and the recent 'Problem Solver' (on Patrick Topping's Trick label) has been spun everywhere from Coachella to Corsica Studios. Not to mention the highly-requested, highly-playable 'Love Is Real'- his collaboration with fellow Aussie ex-pat, Mall Grab - currently causing complete and utter chaos in clubs the world over.
All of which is to say this: Loods is the real deal. In the booth he works all manner of disco-groovers, noughties anthems and pure peaktime bombs to give the dance floors from Nottingham to Newcastle exactly what they need, while his mix resume includes regular contributions to Rinse FM, NTS, triple j and Boiler Room. Joining Loods is fast-rising Naarm/Melbourne-based producer Luke Alessi. With productions on RÜFÜS DU SOL's Rose Avenue Records and well-received sets at Lost Paradise, Lost Sundays and BTV over the NYE period, Luke next joins Loods both match fit and in fine form. Not to mention Irish producer (and SCDD’s latest recruit) David Jackson, Newcastle’s Claire O’Brien and Eora selector Kai rounding out a stacked bill in the Slip Inn's open-air courtyard ☀️
