About this Event

P LEASE NOTE THAT THE DURATION OF THIS EVENT SHOWN ABOVE IS ONLY APPROXIMATE AND CANNOT BE GUARANTEED; IT WILL DEPEND ON FACTORS SUCH AS THE WEATHER AND THE WALKING PACE OF THE GROUP.

Join this leisurely ramble with a Birmingham Ramblers group leader and enjoy social walking with our friendly members.

It is very helpful for the walk leader to have prior knowledge of numbers that will be on this walk. We ask you to complete this very brief form to help with our planning of the walk to ensure that we can safely accommodate all who wish to join us. You will receive an automatic acknowledgement when you submit this form, and also a reminder of the details 2 days before the walk.

Walk leader: Sheila Lyons

Meeting arrangements:

The meeting point is 10.45 am at the Banners Gate entrance to Sutton Park (Chester Road North B73 6SD. ‘What 3 words’ = dame.fakes.jaws). Meet by the two big, felled tree trunks outside the children's play area.

Other bus options include 907 and 5 to the Beggars Bush with a 15 minute walk to Banners Gate. Check the times for your chosen bus to ensure you arrive at Banners Gate park entrance for 10.45 am.

BY TRAIN. Take the Cross City Line to Sutton Coldfield then walk to Town Gate and through the park to the Banners Gate entrance to meet the walk leader at 10.45am.

BY CAR: Car parking is currently free at the Banner’s Gate car park, but this may change, so please check.

Meet at Banner’s Gate by 10.45 am. There is a small café and a free to use toilet at Banners Gate. There are no toilets on the walk itself.

Walk Description:

This walk is in association with Dr. Mike Hodder (University of Birmingham archaeologist) and a small donation of £3.00 per walker is requested, which will go to “The Friends of Sutton Park”. Sheila Lyons will collect donations before the start of the walk. Please bring the correct money.

Expressions of Interest for this walk will close at 06.00 on Saturday 19 September. After this, please email [email protected] to enquire about any late availability for the walk.

===================================================================

If you later find that you are unable to join us it would be helpful if you let us know by sending an email to [email protected] - this will be passed on to the walk leader and will prevent any delay to the start of the walk should the leader be waiting for you. Please note that some walks have a waiting list so tickets are NOT TRANSFERABLE; if you are unable to join us then please cancel your place to free it up for someone who may be on the waiting list rather than passing it to someone else.
