About this Event
In this workshop you will learn about the principles of panel data analysis, which includes repeated observations on the same individuals. You will learn how to merge data files together to create wide and long format data and how to run a fixed-effects regression models, a commonly used method for estimating causal effects. This is a hands-on workshop, using data from “Understanding Society” - The UK Household Longitudinal Study and with R Studio software. Previous experience with linear regression analysis is required. Refreshments provided!
is a PhD Candidate in Advanced Quantitative Methods at the University of Exeter’s Centre for Computational Social Science. Her research explores the relationship between armed conflict in Colombia and deforestation, applying innovative network analysis methods to examine social-ecological systems. Laura has experience working with data in various settings, including the public sector, and academia and has taught RStudio and analytical methods to university students as well as the general public.
