Longest Night Service: The holiday season usually brings messages of glad tidings, joy, celebration, happiness and cheer. And yet, we know that our grief and lament doesn’t just disappear because it’s almost Christmas and the Hallmark channel tells us to just be happy. As the days become shorter and the darkness sets in, feelings of sadness, loneliness, and despair can become especially acute.
During the third week of Advent, as we light the candle of Joy on Sunday, we also hold space for the heaviness we carry, too. Join us for a Longest Night Service on December 18 at 7 pm, as we tend to the wholeness of our experiences during this season.
