Long-Term Care Insurance Lunch & Learn: What Medicare won’t cover and how to prepare

Many people assume Medicare or health insurance will cover all their long-term care needs, but that misconception can leave families financially vulnerable when care is needed most.
To help seniors better understand their options, LivWell Seniors is hosting a free Lunch & Learn, “Protecting Your Future,” at noon, Tuesday, July 14, inside CASI's former Jane's Place, 1035 W Kimberly Rd., Davenport, Iowa. The presentation will be led by Holly Katko of UConnect Solutions, Inc.
During this educational session, attendees will learn about:
• Common misconceptions about Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care coverage
• Who may need long-term care and why planning ahead matters
• The costs associated with home care, assisted living, and nursing home care
• Ways families often pay for long-term care expenses
• How long-term care insurance can help protect retirement savings and assets
• Benefits that may help individuals remain safely in their homes longer
“Protecting Your Future” is designed to help individuals and families make informed decisions before a health crisis occurs, providing greater peace of mind and financial security for the future.
