Bang on a Can presents the 4th year of Long Play, a three-day destination music festival, presented from Friday, May 2 through Sunday, May 4, 2025. Featuring 50+ concerts, Long Play also showcases a dense network of inventive music venues in Brooklyn – with performances at BAM, Roulette, Pioneer Works, Issue Project Room, Public Records, BRIC, The Space at Irondale, plus outdoor events and more.

3-day Festival and Supporter Passes include a 90th birthday spotlight-celebration of Terry Riley at Pioneer Works with guitar legend Pete Townshend performing the original ‘free fall solo version’ of his signature tribute Baba O’Riley, the Bang on a Can All-Stars premiering a new version of Riley’s iconic and inspirational A Rainbow in Curved Air, arranged by Gyan Riley, plus Riley’s minimalist classic In C performed by an All-Star cast including Pete Townshend and special guests.

Some featured concerts in the 2025 lineup include NYC art-rock legend Kim Gordon, the world premiere of Henry Threadgill’s Listen Ship; Tim Hecker; Ensemble Signal playing David Lang and Julia Wolfe; Tomeka Reid Quartet; Nico Muhly’s The Street; Valentina Magaletti; Caroline Shaw and Danni Lee Parpan aka Ringdown; Mary Halvorson + Bill Frisell duo; Australia’s Ensemble Offspring playing a world premiere by composer Kate Moore; and much more.
